Explanation- Senior IAS officer Nidhi Chibber has been appointed as the chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre. Chibber is a 1994 batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre and is currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries. She has been appointed as chairperson of the CBSE in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the government of India, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry

The decision was taken at a legislature party meeting following the resignation of CM Biplab Kumar Deb.

Explanation-The Supreme Council of the Union has elected Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, as President of the UAE. The Council held a meeting at the Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He has replaced Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who died at the age of 73

Explanation-After the recent outbreak of ‘Tomato flu’, which was endemic to Kerala, the neighbouring states are ramping up surveillance to prevent the disease. The tomato flu is a rare viral disease, which causes fever, skin irritation, rashes and dehydration. It affects children below five years of age and gets its name from the large red-coloured blisters it causes. There is no specific drug and the infected children are to be isolated, as it is contagious like other flu types

Explanation-India has been unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA) for 2022-2024. Commission on Elections, Philippines was the previous chair of AAEA. Currently, 20 Asian Election Management Bodies (EMB) are members of AAEA and Election Commission of India (ECI) is a founder member of the EMB of AAEA. New members include Russia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

Explanation-Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed ‘Utkarsh Samaroh’ event held at Bharuch in Gujarat. It was organized to mark the celebration of 100 percent saturation of four key schemes of the state government in the district. Over 12000 beneficiaries were identified across the four schemes, which include Ganga Swaroopa Aarthik Sahay Yojana, Indira Gandhi Vrudh Sahay Yojana, Niradhar Vrudh Aarthik Sahay Yojana and Rashtriya Kutumb Sahay Yojana
